Periodontal Therapy
Staged treatment and monitoring for gum disease.
Periodontal therapy treats the infection in the pocket between gum and tooth, then keeps it under control. It is a program rather than a single appointment, and it works.
We start by charting pocket depths, bleeding points and bone levels so we know the extent and the pattern. Treatment then combines deep cleaning below the gumline with technique coaching aimed squarely at the sites you are missing.
After active treatment, maintenance visits on a shorter interval — often three or four months — are what actually preserve the result. Periodontal disease is managed, not cured, and the maintenance phase is not optional.

Common questions
Periodontal Therapy
Can gum disease be reversed?
Gingivitis — inflammation without bone loss — is fully reversible. Once bone has been lost, treatment stops further loss rather than rebuilding what has gone.
Will my gums recede after treatment?
Sometimes, yes. Swollen gum tissue shrinks as inflammation resolves, which can expose a little more root. That is healing, not harm, though it can cause temporary sensitivity.
Is it hereditary?
Susceptibility runs in families, and smoking and diabetes both raise risk considerably. None of that makes it untreatable — it makes monitoring more important.
